Vein911® Vein Treatment Centers offers a one-year Venous & Lymphatic Medicine (VLM) Fellowship providing immersive clinical, procedural, educational, and research experience in the diagnosis and treatment of venous and lymphatic disease.
Vein911® is an award-winning, internationally recognized practice in patient care, education, and research, based in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Our fellowship is designed for physicians who want more than procedural training. Fellows learn how to evaluate disease comprehensively, develop sound clinical judgment, master contemporary venous interventions, participate in meaningful research, and ultimately become leaders in the evolving specialty of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine.

Fellowship Overview
The Vein911® Venous & Lymphatic Medicine Fellowship is a one-year, high-volume clinical and scholarly training experience.
Fellows participate directly in patient evaluation, diagnostic imaging, treatment planning, procedures, longitudinal follow-up, clinical research, education, and practice improvement.
Training emphasizes not simply how to perform procedures, but how to think comprehensively about venous and lymphatic disease and how to deliver exceptional care across the entire patient journey.
Direct Mentorship
Christopher Pittman
M.D., FAVLS, FACR, FACP (Hon)
Founder and Medical Director of Vein911® Vein Treatment Centers and an internationally recognized physician, educator, researcher, and innovator in Venous & Lymphatic Medicine.
Dr. Pittman is a triple board-certified physician with decades of experience in vascular and interventional medicine. His work spans clinical care, physician education, research, medical innovation, and the advancement of independent vein practice. He also serves as affiliated faculty in the Department of Radiology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.
Brian Pink
MD, MBA, DABFM, DABVLM, RPhS
Physician leader in Venous & Lymphatic Medicine with expertise in clinical care, physician education, and practice innovation.
Dr. Pink brings a multidisciplinary background to the fellowship and provides fellows with additional mentorship in clinical decision-making, patient care, and the development of a successful career in Venous & Lymphatic Medicine.
What You’ll Learn
Fellows receive extensive supervised experience in the evaluation and management of venous and lymphatic disorders, including:
- Comprehensive clinical evaluation of venous and lymphatic disease
- Venous duplex ultrasound interpretation and its integration into clinical decision-making
- Chronic venous insufficiency and varicose vein disease
- Venous edema, skin changes, and venous ulcer disease
- Superficial venous thrombosis and other venous disorders
- Compression therapy and conservative management
- Ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy
- Thermal endovenous ablation
- Contemporary nonthermal treatment strategies
- Cosmetic and medically necessary sclerotherapy
- Treatment planning across complex venous distributions
- Longitudinal assessment of clinical outcomes and disease progression
- Patient education, shared decision-making, and the complete patient experience
Just as importantly, fellows learn to understand why, when, and whether to intervene rather than simply learning a collection of procedures.
ABVLM Certification Preparation
The fellowship incorporates the educational principles and subject matter contained within the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM) Core Content and fellowship educational standards and provides structured preparation for physicians pursuing ABVLM certification.
Research, Education & Innovation
Research and scholarly activity are important components of the fellowship.
Fellows may participate in:
- Clinical research projects
- Abstract and manuscript development
- Scientific presentations
- Case reports and educational publications
- Quality-improvement initiatives
- Development and evaluation of new approaches to venous care
- Teaching and physician education
Fellows have opportunities to present their work at Health Performance Specialists® Summits and national or international Venous & Lymphatic Medicine meetings and to participate in projects intended for peer-reviewed publication.

Applicant Requirements
Applicants should have:
- An MD, DO, or international equivalent medical degree
- Completion of appropriate postgraduate residency training
- Eligibility for Florida physician licensure or registration appropriate to the fellowship position
- A demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care
- An interest in Venous & Lymphatic Medicine, innovation, education, and continuous improvement
Prior experience in vascular medicine, surgery, interventional radiology, diagnostic imaging, procedural medicine, research, or physician leadership is desirable but not required.
